If you were going to quit a job you hated would you put in your 2 weeks or say x is my last day or just tell your boss you quit

Depends how bad it is but tbh at my last job I walked out during my lunch break never came back. It was too much anxiety during that shift to much shit from my manager I couldn’t take it

2 weeks if I feel my well being is not in danger and that they would give me a solid recommendation if I asked. If they will say awful things about me to any employer for any reason regardless, just quit on the spot.

Yeah you guys have good points. I wouldn’t quit or anything without already having accepted another job I just didn’t know what the norm was. I think at this job the most I’d do is say Friday is my last day tbh

Yea honestly if you don’t care about the job, the people, or a future recommendation you can just quit. Otherwise if you want to leave on a positive note 2 weeks/giving a last date is polite. Also depends on the industry- food service is much less formal than an office job, so that may play a factor too. But just know if you give the two weeks they might just have your last day that day to avoid people wasting their last two weeks.
