my dad is a big maga supporter and when i posted videos and evidence based arguments on my story he asked “if i really believe that shit.” i guess i just wanted to see if there’s anything i can do about this bc im almost sure he hates me now

He doesn’t hate you he just disagrees with opinions you have. If you’re living with them obviously protect yourself by not being up stuff like that. You don’t want to start arguments over something you know you’re not going to agree upon. Sadly to sometimes arguments can lead to worse things.

i’m lucky to be at college a state away. he gave me strong opinions over text and i just said i wasn’t going to argue with him because he won’t care what i have to say anyways.

true. i’m just not sure how things are going to work now that he knows how i feel. i personally don’t want to cut him off because he’s still my dad but i’ll definitely never look at him the same after some of the things he’s said

yeah i think i’m a lot more mature than he is, which is really hard to think about because i just became an adult and he’s basically lived half his life already. just sad to think about how i thought he was better than this as a kid
