imo this means that she was checked out of the relationship for a while before they broke up and was just slowly getting up the confidence/making sure she actually wanted to break up with him before she actually did, therefore recovered a lot quicker emotionally and probably jumped into this new relationship a little too fast but that doesn’t necessarily mean she cheated or anything
I've never been single for long so I get her. After a long relationship, I hopped straight into another (shorter) one. There was no overlap or cheating, it just happened that way bc I didn't want to be alone. I think it's a poor choice but it doesn't always imply that there was any infidelity. But even if there was, that relationship is already over.
my friend did the same but her ex was an abuser and abused her for years and i never knew until she was out of that relationship she finally told me what was happening and why she left and then she got with this other guy like a few weeks in after breaking off her engagement with her ex who was her fiance for 3 yrs
I broke up with my ex of 4+ years and got into a relationship rather quickly.. I always felt hella guilty about it and tried setting a boundary of waiting a year to get into a new one… but for who? I was ready to move on after being treated like garbage and not even realizing it until the final days of the relationship. I don’t need to wait for anyone Didn’t start the new relationship officially until the school year started again (the breakup was right before summer) but man am I happy
bro u have no clue what was going on in that girls head. i highly doubt that six years in she went hmm maybe i should break up w him? and instantly did. that kind of decision takes genuinely months of pondering, and there’s a good chance all romantic feelings towards him were gone weeks if not months before she ended it. comparing that to a friendship makes no sense
Awww yes, my friend either A:mentally checked out a kong time ago and lead on their now ex OR B: doesn’t trust me enough to tell me how bad their relationship of 6 years was and also does not recognize it is not healthy to immediately move on from an abusive relationship (more so than a healhty one)
That’s what I’m thinking, I def don’t think she cheated or anything. I think I’m just stuck in the perspective that I’d be hurt if I was on the other side. I also don’t think she’s in the “wrong” it’s her life, if she’s happy I’m happy, it’s just something on my mind for some reason😭
I have no idea what’s happening in this convo but I’m not jealous lol. I also don’t think she’s in the wrong, if she’s happy, I’m happy. I’ve had a lot of relationships where the only reason I was their friend or whatever was just to be another body at their functions, so things like this make me nervous!
i don’t think that she led him on just cuz she took time to make sure she was 100% making the right decision by ending things. i also don’t think anyone is saying it’s necessarily emotionally healthy to get into a new relationship so fast, just that it doesn’t mean she cheated on him
and that’s fair! i just feel like a lot of ppl are implying she had this new bf on the side or as a “backup” during the other relationship and i don’t think that’s necessarily the case or fair to assume. i’ve been on both sides of this tho and honestly neither feels great but it’s just how life goes sometimes
