you have to get it in the state your a resident of and you can only buy low capacity rifles and shotguns over state lines. so if you’re still a MA resident with an MA id you would get your FID and then LTC in mass and would buy say a handgun in mass but you could buy a shotgun in ct. If you’re worried talk to the official at the police station who issues the licenses or maybe a lawyer about it

you should also check CTs gun laws to check if they have reciprocity with mass because you might need a CT specific permit to concealed carry
