Please do quit. I know it feels good but the health effects are not worth it after years of vaping. Try switching to pouches to reduce the cravings while still satisfying yourself (limit the amount per day) and if you want to quit then gradually reduce the mg per pouch until you’re completely nicotine free

The anticipation of quitting is sometimes worse than actually quitting. I quit 7 months ago and what kept stopping me was my fear of not having nicotine once I did quit for good I realized it’s all mental and your stronger then that.

What exactly are the health effects?

upvote 36 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> mayfly26 3w

popcorn lung, and the full various problems haven’t even been studied long enough to know how detrimental vaping COULD be

Well at minimum you’ll be dealing with shortage of breath, increased blood pressure, nicotine cravings, and damage to cilia. But it can be much worse with prolonged use: you could develop popcorn lung, one of your lungs could literally collapse, you could get cancer, you’ll be constantly coughing more than you should, and overall your life is likely to end sooner than it should. Pouches, on the other hand, are much safer (though not 100%)

Shortage of breath I deal with yes and cravings but I don’t cough at all. I used to have a smokers cough when I smoked actual carcinogens in cigs but I don’t anymore. There is a likelihood that I am damaging my cilia but listen…pouches just like dipping can also likely promote cancer of the mouth….what do you think of that? Have there been any studies on Zyns causing cancer? Couldn’t I just lower my nicotine usage through lowering levels in my vape juice?

That’s fair, but my thing with pouches (specifically zyns) is that they have two listed ingredients: nicotine salt and ‘other food-grade ingredients.’ Now the second one is incredibly sketchy as there are some food grade ingredients out there that are known to cause terrible health effects, but nicotine salt is just nicotine. Theres no tobacco, so I feel like they’re safer (however I’m not a doctor! I could be incredibly wrong, the best course of action is to not use nic at all lol).

As for lowering levels of vape juice to lower nic usage, yeah you could definitely do that. I just found it easier with pouches

Quitting is a looooong fucking journey, one that I’m not close to being at. Hopefully we can both (and all people who want to, for that matter) quit someday, despite nicotines properties

nicotine is always tobacco derived you can't synthesize it. tobacco will always be in nicotine pouches, albeit in trace amounts. it took me embarrassingly long to quit zyns. i vaped for about a year, got a terrible case of bronchitis and decided zyns were the move. then i got addicted to those too!! 2 years later now we are nicotine free
