Don’t listen to the 20 YOs, they don’t realize how young you still are in yours mid 20s - late 30s. I’ve always heard you feel older at 29 than you do at 33, and it’s because you start to feel the effects of older age in your mid/late 20s. But by your 30s, it’s just a new normal and not as scary. You also realize how much aging slows down at that point. I have 34 YO coworkers who I genuinely thought were in the their early 20s
I also felt like this for like the whole year after I turned 23. It’s like a really early mid life crisis. Just think about how long the last however many years of your life have felt, and remind yourself that you likely have double or triple that time left at the very least, maybe even quadruple if you hit 100 lol
I don’t know why knowing this doesn’t make me feel better, it all seems so short. Especially considering how little time I have pre-retirement to make something of myself. I wonder if it’s because how much of my life I piss away online, because it feels like no time has passed at all.
