Why would you have anxiety while telling the truth? Are you going to lie?

You quite literally can say “due to health reasons I won’t be in” that’s all they need, but I get wanting a script. “I’m not feeling good and won’t be of any help if I’m there today, so I won’t be in.”

I get anxiety calling into my grocery job too. There was a point yrs ago where I couldn’t call in for 9mos or I’d be fired and I’m in no danger of that now but I still feel sick pulling up the contact info. I work directly with food so if I feel like shit I just say I threw up and don’t want to contaminate anything.

They’re not supposed to ask why you can’t come in but they typically do anyway so just make it as general as possible, the more details you add the more suspicious it sounds even if you’re being truthful.
