How can I get motivation to work out and diet?

I love food and I don’t have the mental strength to make myself keep going to the gym or diet tbh. I feel embarrassed because of my lack of stamina too. I walk for 3 mph on the treadmill on a slight incline and I’m sweating bullets like 5-10 minutes in

If you love food get more creative with the ways you can better your diet. Instead of starting at the gym, go for walks in nature or somewhere scenic to maybe distract you from feeling the exhaustion set in. Little by little, it adds up. Routine, routine, routine. Get some discipline if you really want it. Trouble staying motivated? Set small goals like it's a video game, level up and treat yourself to a spa day or smth.

Maybe I can go on walks with my roommate. How many miles everyday would be good enough to see a change?

Change comes from the kitchen if you're referring to a physical change

I’m definitely eating less now that I’m poor and I’m college so maybe that will help.

I’m in your same boat. While I haven’t execute it yet (idk when), I heard that eating smaller, protein rich dishes will help tremendously. Small calories (like 300-700 cals) with like 20g-50g of protein. Also drink a lot of water.
