when all epstein stuff came out originally i was really into psychology so i went down a really creepy rabbit hole about this stuff (0/10 do not recommend). basically, pedophilia in the DSM-5 is a mental disorder defined as experiencing sexual attraction to minors. but only 50% of offending pedophiles in jail actually have clinical pedophilia. the other 50% commit the acts out of a desire for power and domination. that same desire for power and domination (plus lack of empathy or morality)…

I think there's a percentage of them that are genuinely pedophiles, there's another group that is just addicted to the privilege of being rich and immune to consequences and so does the most depraved things they can think of to """enjoy""" that status (obviously evil), and a third group that wants to be bonded with the first two groups so they go along with all of it

is what drives people to pursue extreme wealth and power. and the people who are most successful at achieving power will be the most manipulative, charismatic, and intelligent of the bunch— very much leaning towards the ones that don’t actually have clinical pedophilia but are offending pedophiles, likely sociopaths. basically, the type of people who want to and are able to get that rich and that powerful are the same type of people who want to abuse kids— it comes from the same root desire
