this is the weird thing and keep in mind i’m lowkey a hypochondriac so this may feel like no big deal to you but to me im terrified. i feel completely fine like not sick at all other than the fact ive had a tickle in my throat for the last week and a half, i have some phlegm i can feel when i cough, and the tickle like makes me need to cough. can i ask how old you are? i’m 21 and everything im reading is pointing away from copd because of my age but i feel like thats just not right

I’m 22, and yeah I had a little tickle before it got worse. I noticed it was getting bad when I couldn’t hit my vape because it felt like icy hot on my lungs it was so weird

idk what system your phone and watch are on, mine is Apple Watch and I can find my stats in the Health app on my phone. I knew something was up when my blood oxygen dipped under 90, but apparently under 95 on a consistent basis is not good. You can zoom in on specific months, weeks, and days, and scroll through them all. Idk if it's COPD, but this was enough to get a referral to a pulmonologist and I'm waiting for my appointment. Same strategy helped my mom diagnose her sleep apnea.

I believe chronic bronchitis is like manageable but not fully curable, your symptoms sound a lot like mine though so im hoping it’s just that🙏🏻

how long did you have a tickle in your throat? How long did you have it before things started to progress? Did you have literally any other symptoms at first? When I hit my vape, it doesn’t hurt my lungs at all.

I had the tickle, coughing, and phlegm for about a week or 2 before I couldn’t hit the vape. Then my breathing started getting shorter after that and I started wheezing/whistling with every inhale and exhale. I did not get a spirometry test, I just went to an urgent care and cried to them that I couldn’t breathe. I told the doctor I vape a lot and that is what was scaring me about it so he asked me a few questions and checked my blood oxygen and everything looked fine to him so he prescribed me-

okay. i’m sorry i’m asking so much but how was your cough and your phlegm? was your phlegm like being coughed up or was it a lot of it you could feel? were your coughs forceful and painful?

no it’s okay dw! my phlegm was being coughed up yeah but most of the times it was me forcing it to come out. I was coughing so much that my abdominal started to hurt from tensing it when you cough. I would get a tickle and start profusely coughing, feel the phlegm, and then force it out with bigger coughs. And no I was diagnosed with acute asthmatic bronchitis

okay, i have the tickle but im barely coughing and my phlegm isn’t coming like up out of my mouth. i cant hear it when i breathe i can just hear a bit of phlegm when i cough and feel it in my throat. idk.. im just afraid lol anxious sooo anxious.

also, acute asthmatic bronchitis is temporary!! so don’t worry about having it forever
