What we face in private —temptations, thoughts, habits— is the true test of our character. God values the obedience that no one applauds...Who defines being a good person means? You? Your feelings? Your experiences? Your expectations? Are those the same as … 5… 10… 15 years ago? Will your definition of good be the same 20 years from now? A foundation by definition doesn’t move. It is fix. It is what you live by and never change. If everyone has a different definition of “good”… then… how can we ever agree to be good?
It is not about doing… or not doing. It is about dying to your own desires. That fix it all. Christianity has practices and principles. Principles will last forever regardless the practice. Dying to yourself is the principle that fix it all. And you can’t die to yourself by following practices or human definitions.
That statement reveals that you have zero understanding of what the Bible actually is and why such verses exist. And your answer of fundamental emptiness and meaninglessness are not a guide either. The very foundation of what we call “Good morality.” In the western world is that “fairy tale.” You can reject it but you can’t construct anything in its place. Thus the red wind which has swept away all that is and left nothing standing.
