Do not be emotionally dependent on other people. This will keep you from growing and maturing. This process starts with telling and declaring that “I am not a child anymore and I need to grow up and be responsible.”

i was doing my parents taxes and mitigating their divorce proceedings while i was supposed to be being a kid. mature kid = burnt out adult
