Like they're too picky. My family raised a boxer from 8 weeks to 11 years and her brother from 2 years to 11 years. They lived great lives and our vet would vouch that we took amazing care of them. One thing about one of our old dogs was that the one was an escape artist. She jumps and would often hop the fence and get stuck in our neighbor's yard. Boxer we were looking to adopt was a jumper. The foster parents asked about our fence and we showed them the reinforcements that we've put up. My old dogs passed away about 5 years ago and we haven't taken them down yet so they're pretty sturdy and a good alternative to building a new fence. Still, we were rejected by the family because they believed that the yard should have a more "permanent" fix (even though those panels have been up for 10+ years now). Been wanting to have another boxer again but also would prefer to adopt. We have 10+ years of experience, a great track record, and are even willing to adapt for the dog. So I called the shelter responsible for the dog and asked about their adoption application. According to the shelter, we'd be a great home for the boxer so I complained to the shelter that the foster family is being too picky about who they adopt out to which is only making it harder for the dog to find a forever home.
