Is it bad that I think the porn industry is a lot worse than the music or acting industry -_- like Sydney and Sabrina didn’t let 1,080+ men fuck them and encourage young girls to do the same for money

Honestly i don't think they set us back. Sex sells always, that's why a lot of women sing and rap about it. Ice Spice didn't get popular because people liked her rapping for instance

Sabrina is allowed to be sexual- comparing her to Bonnie Blue is an insane statement

Pornography is cancerous to our society. It is an addiction that is NOT talked about enough. It has the same effect on the human brain as heroine.

I mean if you want to talk influence the sex sells music/acting biz is far more influential over young girls than the porn industry. I don’t see many young girls interacting with the content of Bonnie blue(?). This isn’t an explicit endorsement or condemnation of any of the three industries, merely a comment about where the eyes are coming from.

I’m not sure if it’s setting us back. I mean if these women WANT to do it… so what? Being trafficked into it or sexually assaulted isn’t the same as what these women are doing either.

NTA, and if porn isn’t addictive then neither is gambling or shopping or exercising or skydiving or murder. Not dying from withdrawals doesn’t make a substance not addictive, unless mfs wanna argue that weed and nicotine aren’t addictive

NTA. I have blonde hair and pale skin and that is the only thing I have in common with them and I shit you not men have said “oh if you do this you’ll look like Sydney Sweeney” or “you should wear this and you’d look like her” and it genuinely baffles me. None of this happened before they took over, ever.

I think ppl just like putting women down. I can’t really think about what Sabrina and Sydney doing is wrong. Bonnie promotes toxic ideologies but it’s her self that’s being harmed in the process and it’s her right. It should be in a vacuum but it’s not unfortunately these r the ideas being pushed on little girls

I agree but these ideas aren't...new. Its always been this way, and if little girls know about ideas pushed by Bonnie then we have way bigger fish to fry. I think social media over inflates things

100% but we have to admit when people contribute to things rather than just the bigger picture

Yes but then what yk? If we start going on about individuals spreading toxic ideologies we're gonna be here for a while. I think all we can do now is learn to be better parents, educators, or any kind of support system for children in hopes they don't grow up listening to people like that.

Yea but which one is seen more by young girls. Which one does society give a positive spin to. Ask a kid what they want to be when they grow up, none will say porn star but a lot will say pop star.

no it doesn't at all 😂 tell a gooner and a heroin addict to go cold turkey and one of them will get sick and likely die. the other will simply be better off. addiction is a literal disease and ppl need to learn the difference between that, compulsion, obsession and fixation. it can absolutely have a horribly negative impact but it's not an addiction and treating it like one only serves to create further misunderstanding and stigma which only worsens the issue

Yea you’re just wrong lmao. Porn is stimulating. Anything stimulating can be addictive. It’s why there’s warning labels on basic things like coffee. The human brain is wired to want what it likes. If there’s a chemical imbalance in someone’s brain, they’re more likely to be addicted to a sort of stimulus. To say porn isn’t addictive is extremely dismissive and violently uneducated.

Caffeine is addictive because it blocks adenosine receptors. Not all forms of stimulation are addictive. You have no clue what you're talking about. You're ignorant asf and way overconfident in your response. Please sit down

They'll say "they can't because it's an addiction" but you've already seen how lacking in accurate information some people are. They care more about sounding/feeling right than actually being correct. Rather than seeking knowledge they work backwards from a bias they hold until they find something that suits it and then run with it

The dominant medical institutions like the APA acknowledging and delineating process addictions from substance addictions in the DSM-V? It’s amazing how much you’ve typed for someone who ‘dc’

also "cancerous" is crazy language to use and highly offensive on several levels. you likely don't care but it's something to reconsider. there are many ways to state you think something is destructive to society without using that language

Cancerous isn’t the same as ableism, the actual Latin meaning of cancer is crab because cancer cells look like a crab and spread out.

weed isn’t addictive. nicotine however is a different story. most ppl that seem to be “addicted to weed” smoke with things that have nicotine in them (cigarellos, backwoods, etc.)
