To be honest, this isn’t particularly fair. Dad can take care of the kids hair. It’s his hair the kids inherited

This is so true. I’m a product of this and only learned truly learned how to do my hair when I got to college (so within the last few years!) :/. My poor mom never really knew what to do and ruined my hair many times in the process.

This goes for all races too! It breaks my heart seeing mothers not learn to care for their babies curls

it’s sad how this can even go for white kids of white moms and dads my dad just has super curly hair that i inherited and im 22 and only just am learning to take care of it well because my dad always had short hair and my mom has straight hair so she didn’t really know how either. she did her absolute best tho and i thank her for that! tiktok saved me tho tbh

Regardless of where it comes from a parent has a responsibility (either parent)

upvote 240 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #5 3w

Well no, it’s their child and they chose to have a child with the possibility of a curlier hair type so they need to take care of it

I do want to add after reading some of these comments that my hair type and texture is completely different from my dads AND my moms. My dad would have absolutely no clue how to do my hair just as much as my mom didn’t. She did the best she could and learned from her mistakes along the way 😭. My dad made no attempts.

Both should know how to take care of their kids hair, but I get what you mean about it not just being the mothers responsibility

Oh wow… that sounds really bad dude. No one said the dads were leaving or weren’t helping out, just that moms should learn how to deal with their children’s hair type when it’s different from their own. The man in this context would already know how to handle the kid’s hair.

upvote 5 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #24 3w

i’m adopted and have super curly hair and my mom never knew how to take care of it so i constantly had matted fucked up hair and my mom would blame me for not learning on my own 😹

upvote 6 downvote

ACTUALLY, it says AND not taking care of their hair. Not if. Therefore still targeting one race as if only white women do that.

upvote -2 downvote

Holy shit it’s still a conditional. The GROUP of ppl OP is talking about is white women who DO NOT take care of their biracial children’s hair
