Do they know they can make a bank account specifically to pool their rent money...

Or just combine your finances like an actual married couple

Keeping your finances separate just screams to the other person that you’re already planning your exit strategy

Not combining finances def tells your partner you want a way out. If you’re not trusting your partner with sharing your money, you shouldn’t be marrying them period.

Yall it is totally fine to not completely combine finances what most couples do is have one joint account and then their own. Getting marriage does not mean losing one’s autonomy. It is peculiar to not have one joint account for household expenses but someone having their own money doesn’t make it an escape plan?

We must have very different definitions of marriage. It does mean you give up autonomy. Two people become one. A marriage is different than having a roommate

I think a marriage is when two people become partners not one being. I think marriage is beautiful in the fact that two people decide to live along side each other and share their lives. But we can each have our own opinions you and I aren’t walking down the aisle.

Yeah I wasn’t being sarcastic I think we just have different opinions of what marriage is. For the record two becoming one isn’t something I made up, it’s how marriage originated which was from a biblical context
