He didn’t say anything false, just that maga wanted to avoid associations with the shooter when there was still ambiguity surrounding his political affiliations because we only knew his parents. Nothing about that was egregious enough to warrant suspension unless you think fox shouldn’t be on air either
“The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it” …is what he said. Does that really sound like he’s not calling the shooter a member of “the MAGA gang”?
“Characterize,” “anything other than,” and “score political points” focus the statement more on the reaction to the thought of him being maga and their motivation for why they wouldn’t want him to be than definitively saying he IS maga. Given that this statement was made when maga was confused after immediately assuming the killer was trans or something only to find out he was a Mormon man raised in a maga household hold it makes complete sense.
Again this was a speculative statement about a political movements’ response to the ambiguity of his political affiliations. And even if he was making a definitive statement that wouldn’t be enough to warrant suspension. It would warrant a correction on the next episode and I the comments of the next video. My question is why is Kimmel being held to a higher standards and Fox or even the US president who were immediately making definitive statements about the killer before he was even caught?
The President, fox, and multiple maga political influencers have made false DEFINITIVE statements of fact for this and other tragedies. They blamed the plane crashes back in Jan/Feb on DEI even tho most were due to funding cuts (in part from their admin) and the pilots involved were white. They immediately blamed trans, antifa, and Democrats for this death before they even knew who the killer was. Despite him not even being trans or a dem. So they should all be suspended too then right?
Also based on your logic there was no personal opinion in Kimmel’s statement. It was an objective fact that when maga found out the killer was from an all maga Mormon family where the grandma said everyone in it was Republican they WERE trying to distance themselves from the killer and have him be something else as to continue the narrative.
