He got sniped in front of his wife and kids dude. I can only imagine it being my dad or my husband and it fills me with so much sadness. How many people are assassinated in front of thousands of people watching?? No one deserves that. Not you, not my family, not that guys family down the street, not that person, not him either. It’s inhumane and evil!

Hot take but it might be more of a mental health issue than a gun issue but I could be wrong fr fr

Def true imo. While guns def allow people to cause much more harm in a much smaller period of time, level-headed individuals don’t tend to commit shootings[ever].

Mental health is definitely a factor (no sane person does something like this, or any shooting for that matter) but look at other countries with similar demographics to the US - same mental health issues, but stricter gun laws

If I recall someone in Europe drove through a crowd. I would be curious to see an[unlikely to happen] objective study on mental health throughout various countries around the world and see how it compares to US. While I do personally love 2nd amendment for myself I realize the extreme negative impact it can have for some people. While shootings gather a lot of media attention we need to look at the actual place an overwhelming majority of gun death - suicide, an objectively mental health issue

The gun isn’t what does the harm. It’s the person standing behind it who pulls the trigger

The guns are still a fucking issue. The fact we’re the only “developed” nation without appropriate gun laws and the only one dealing with non-stop gun violence is pretty telling.

To say gun violence is the only thing killing people is beyond untrue. 2 cases we find out in the last week (the poor Ukrainian girl on the subway and a professor) both stabbed. My point is, instead of focusing on the object, how about focusing on the people. Unfortunately, that will never happen. If the administration banned guns right now would it stop people from shooting others? No. Did banning abortion in states stop people from having them? No. Just food for thought

My God, it takes real effort to have a brain that smooth. If you actually cared about saving lives, you’d be screaming for healthcare reform, malpractice alone kills hundreds of thousands every year. You’d be railing against alcohol, vehicles, all the everyday killers that rack up way more bodies than firearms. But you don’t. Because deep down, this was never about saving people. If it was, you’d have realized that a long time ago.

it is a mental health issue at root. human by nature kill each other. guns and other advanced weapons are just efficient ways to kill people. with a knife someone could only kill 2 people at max in an instant. with a gun it becomes a lot easier to kill multiple people let alone assassinations. SO TO THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. IF THIS MANY PEOPLE HAVE MENTAL ILLNESSES AND VIOLENT TENDENCIES. WHY SHOULD HIGH POWER GUNS AND HIGH AMOUNTS OF AMMUNITION BE EASILY ACCESSIBLE BY EVERYONE

The gun allowed him to instantaneously take his life. If he didn’t have the gun he would have had to find a way to get on the stage and then even more time to cause a fatal injury, minutes that could have allowed someone to intervene. When guns are involved there is no time to stop it you pull the trigger and in one second it’s already over

You know what’s really smart, thinking that increasing gun control is going to stop somebody who is planning to MURDER someone from acquiring a gun. You really think that if someone plans on killing someone (which is illegal in case you didn’t know) they would decide against it because they don’t want to obtain a gun illegally?? Hope your mentally impaired brain fully develops at some point. Foolish

YOU DONT NEED A GODDAMN SNIPER RIFLE CAPABLE OF KILLING FROM 200 YARDS OUT I don’t care about pistols. I care about snipers and AKs. weapons designed for assassination and mass killings
