well the social issues play a part in forming the politics, like i said, both sides suck, but at the same time, i also agree with a lot of what both sides say (like for example i love the renewable energy talk on the left side), i just feel like at the current moment, we have bigger fish to fry. Both sides are so caught up in moral debates and we’re ignoring larger problems, like the economy, national security, infrastructure rather than arguing about personal beliefs and identities endlessly
plus personally i don’t care enough to sit and debate. i do it for scholarships and for grades in class, but i’d never spend my free time just yapping about this and that, it’s all kind of dumb to me, why speak when your words won’t incentivize change. Kant said think whatever you want, but obey, and i thought he was silly, but then you have so many different people civically disobeying, protesting, causing disturbances for their beliefs, but has any of it made a difference?
or maybe i should correct my phrasing, words alone won’t incentivize change, and action without power backing it is futile, therefore, since i’m not in a position to bring about change i’ve become apathetic, both sides suck, but if i had to align with one side like a do or die situation, i’d chose the right side
