Is Invisalign an option? You might be able to do that instead, it wouldn’t show up as much in photos. Or maybe you could just see if you can delay when you get them put on and/or have a convo with your boyfriend about the idea of braces in your proposal photos bothering you so he knows to propose before you get them.

Depends if you have them for a longer amount of time, maybe get them now so you dont have them for the wedding

Context: had braces as a teen, they didn’t leave me off in a good spot and I have to get them again bc it’s causing issues, and I say “supposed to be” bc he told me it would be this year before the holidays start

Regardless I’m not getting married until late summer 2028 so I’m not worried about having them still by then, I just hate the idea of showing my kids or grandkids photos “this was our engagement party the night dad proposed to me” and I have BRACES yk?? Also spent so long in them and had so many surgeries as a kid and they kinda screwed me over (which is not an opinion the dr said the older technology does do what happened to me so this will all be worth it it’s just so disappointing)

This works for professional pics but when my sisters, friends, mom, etc take pics of me and post them all over social media not every single person is gonna take the time to photoshop them out, plus if they did they’d probably be using AI and I don’t want to be the reason for 10 water bottles per pic wasted. Anyway after I said that my mom was like “ok, lowkey true asf,” it’s not as simple as photoshop them yk?
