Because the survival rate of rapists/pedophilia victims in countries with out the death penalty is much lower compared to with If the rapist knows he will be killed for it he has a much chance murdering the victim than letting them live, arab countries are a good example of it

also ask yourself, what is the acceptable rate of innocent lives you would tolerate murdering to justify executing people? it cannot be zero and we know this from death row and post-mortem exonerations. genuine question - what's your rate? and are you willing to accept that that system will be leveraged against vulnerable groups?

This my thought exactly. If you knew you would be in jail for the rest of your life and a modern day slave (look at the labor the prisoners have to do in fielded areas), would you really want to live through that or would you rather die. You have to remember that slaves in the 1800s jumped off ships to avoid slavery. There are deep issues in the country, but I truly believe that we make things worse by showing younger generations (including ours) that rapists can get off with no sentence or
