Ngl, I kinda hate your sister already. Merging is SUCH an easy opportunity to get into an accident, and she intentionally makes it more risky? Geez. The tailgating tho… I know I should also probably hate that one because it’s so dangerous, but I utilize my own pettiness in those instances.
NTA. i dont own my own car, so i drive my moms mainly and occasionally my brothers. If my brother says no, then its no. Am i a bad driver? No. Do i respect their decisions? Yes. A car is an investment that depreciates over time. I wouldnt want something i paid so much money for, to be in the hands of someone tjat doesnt appreciate that fact. Also, i do the same as your sister sometimes, and thats why i dont mind being told no. Like just get your own if your that desperate(im broke i cant afford)
In driving school, they told us not to slow down or speed up when someone is riding your ass. I listen to half that advice. 😇 If someone is tailgating me when I’m going the speed limit or above, I will intentionally slow down (if I’m not in the fast lane and it’s safe to do so). If I’m going the speed limit, this means toggling between 1&2 below, if I’m going above that means going exactly the speed limit. They are the ones liable in the case of an accident, and I am not above weaponizing that.
No, not at all. Tailgaiting is more dangerous than anything on the road. Speeding up increases the danger for both involved. Slowing down is a reasonable way to get your point across and stay safe at the same time. Brake checking during tailgating is where i would draw the line bc that shits already dangerous, and your adding to it by brake checkibg. But for the most part, i agree with #4
You read too much into peoples comments and I’m just gonna leave it at that. I’m not a bad driver by any means, just because you see certain actions as aggressive isn’t my problem. The real problem is people going too slow when everyone else around them is going faster and if you’re cutting someone off you’re no better than them for speeding up.
