just remind him he’s not alone and ur there for him and maybe offer the idea to go out and get his mind off things like even a walk and talking can help

You don’t. You just let him cry it out a make sure he’s safe

Hold him, talk to him or just listen, let him cry it out a bit. Just say “if you need to talk Im here to listen” or something like that
