AITA for breaking up with my bf because he REFUSES to buy me menstrual products when he gets the groceries because he doesn’t want to seem “gay”? It’s happened 3+ times now, and I just got fed up and ended things. He said I’m overreacting.

How…how is that…. I would think buying that is the most straight of a thing someone can buy, right??? Like he can’t use it for himself, he is buying it for a GIRL

Yea, that’s such a stupid thing for him to be a baby about. If he’s gonna cause issues over that i can’t imagine what else he’ll be overly dramatic about. You’re definitely not in the wrong.

Does your ex think all gay people have vaginas or something? Anyways nta, him refusing is also misogynistic. On a side note my bf said he can’t wait for the day I ask him to get me pads and he asks me “what vagina size are you”

i feel like in a vacuum it’s not ideal to break up over just that, however if it’s ontop of other things it makes total sense. More than anything i think stuff like that should be warning signs to broader problems and should be talking points. If the person can’t move on from it or at least can admit how it may relate to other aspects of a relationship (taking care of your partner or being comfortable with her issues) then yeh break up. On average tho id say only childish dudes are like that

if he's like this about something as minuscule as period products, i can't imagine how he would deal with anything remotely more serious which is something you need to think about in regards to a relationship

It’s not a matter of money, we had a shared budget for groceries and toiletries. Pads were ALWAYS on the list. Why couldn’t he pick them up with the rest of the groceries? I had to pick up his adult diapers when he got into a sporting accident!! And condoms?

It was my last straw. He was just so immature, two weeks ago his mother gave me a prized family recipe and I made it for him after he had a hard day at work. He proceeded to bitch and moan about how it wasn’t “the same” for the next week on and off.

It was my own money. I pay for the groceries and toiletries. He just wouldn’t actually physically take them off the shelves, put them in the cart, and be seen checking out with them alongside the other groceries. It was also the last straw for me, he did more but this pushed me over the edge LOL
