The thing is, neither of my sisters live in the same state as me and they still managed to both call. My grandparents were out of the country with my aunt and uncle and they both mailed cards ahead of time so they’d arrive on my birthday. I obviously didn’t expect my parents to be able to celebrate since they weren’t home and I was at college anyways, but they could have at least sent a text.
