…I am queer myself. I would rather not spend the parade with my parents and not have as much fun as I could with my friends. My relationship with my parents is fine, but I would rather support and celebrate my community with my queer friends who I can actually have fun with instead of my parents where I have to tamp down my fun.

I’m not backpedaling lol. Maybe I came off as a dick but my life experiences have shaped me to immediately try to defend lgbt+ societies and spaces and as soon as I saw that was unneeded I switched gears. I don’t sit and think of the most eloquent way to say things at all times because I’m human. Ur more pressed about this than I was to start.
