AITA for not feeling bad when I didn’t want my friend inviting over a random internet druggie that could very likely rape one/both of us and then she goes to a hotel with him and that EXACT thing I warned her about happens?

Yes, YTA. Supposedly you call this person your “friend”, but this friend got 🍇 by a random druggie. You can be upset that they didn’t listen to your reasonable advice about not going to a random hotel with a random druggie. But you better sure as hell feel bad that your FRIEND GOT 🍇?! If you don’t feel bad for them at all, then I hope they never have to see you again. Some friend.

Some of yall are so obsessed with being right it’s genuinely concerning. Your empathy for your “friend” shouldn’t be conditional. Check yourself

I have had people I love sometimes not listen to my sound advice and they got burned, but that doesn’t mean I stopped being their friend. Like maybe it’d be different if because of my friend’s bad decision I ended up getting 🍇, but from the context of the post, that didn’t happen. I’d hope you’d comfort and care for your friend during this incredibly difficult time for them. Otherwise, you were never a true friend in the first place.

“Best life” 💀 nah if y’all saw her youd be trying to organize an intervention, which we have, twice, for her drug problem and behavior issues. She’s turned to taking drugs to cope with literally ANYTHING that inconveniences her. She has the money for therapy but she thinks therapy is BS At this point we have hard evidence to believe she gets herself hurt on purpose for attention. She hears our warnings and advice and constantly throws it in the trash. Are we still the assholes here?

I gave more context about who my friend is in a reply to #2. It’s not about wanting to be right, we want her to stop abusing drugs, we want her to stop doing shit for attention, any advice/warning we tell her goes right out the window, weve had two separate interventions with her, weve done everything for her but we are at our wits end. Her being SA’d after we have warned her multiple times is the straw that broke the camels back

Go look at the replies I made to the other two here in the comments, I should’ve given more context on the type of person she is and how we as her friends have been putting up with it for about 2 years now. Weve been giving her the benefit of the doubt for a long time, but there is only so much you can do and we are tried having to constantly rescue her from such situations
