For added context, she is doing stuff tomorrow with her boyfriend before the party so that's why she's cleaning now. The only thing I have to do tomorrow is work on my lesson plans for a bit which I can do at any point. I have until 7:30pm tomorrow to mop rearrange a couple things which is why I plan to do it tomorrow.

Did she ask you days ago to do this or was this like a last minute ‘hey let’s deep clean’ bc if this was already planned I’d be annoyed as the roommate you bailed to do sm else. If it wasn’t discussed and k happens like that I’d say your fine and as long as you don’t have a bad track record of not doing your chores should be ok.

I agree with this only if it was discussed prior WHEN it would be done, if it was a vague clean for the party agreement without a set timeline then OP has the right to do their half whenever they want as long as it doesnt inhibit party setup or anything

We talked about it yesterday but it was very brief. No exact day/time was mentioned. Just her saying "can you mop and I sweep?"

Communication is key. A simple “hey I still plan on doing my part of the cleaning but I have plans tonight but I’ll be sure to take care of them tomorrow before the party

I did. And she said that she was worried I wouldn't do it in time because of last time (3 months ago I forgot to run the dishwasher overnight.. 3 MONTHS AGO). I caved and just rushed to clean before I went out.
