I understand the concern, but I also feel like it is pretty much up to him to decide who he’s friends with for better or for worse.

Not to play devils advocate but I think your boyfriend sees it as regardless of what he did he’s still my bro a lot of guy friends have a strong loyalty to eachother, but also a good bro would have told his best friend what he did was wrong and to change, guy friends are loyal to fault but we will tell your bro when he’s in the wrong talk to him and see if he’s had that conversation with him I hope this helps
