Not even because you have to realize whether they’re chill with you venting to them there. If not you’re just yapping into someone’s ear for the next foreseeable 10-15 minutes of their life. There’s also the case of someone trying to let you know they are still listening despite not having anything to add. It’s goes a lot deeper than saying someone is a piece of shit end all be all.

to be fair, if i’m venting, i just want to talk and be heard. if someone is venting to me, i try not to interject with too much unless i know that’s what they want
