My bf broke up with me, but my friends (that were friends with me first and longer mind you) “had a feeling”/ knew about it beforehand and I’m angry they didn’t even give me a heads up. AITA

Nah it’s not their place to do so. Imagine they had a feeling you guys were breaking up and they went to you and put that idea in your head. You’d probably preemptively break up just to not get hurt when you never knew for sure if that was going to happen. Breaking up is normal, interfering in relationships is what breaks friendships.

I don’t think I would. I’d appreciate them looking out for me and for not allowing me to look stupid and humiliated when it did happen

I guess that’s fair. But it’s still humiliating being the last one to find out about something especially when those friends were people you trusted

Think about it like this, if you were going to break up with your boyfriend and they found out. Would you want them to go and spill the beans? No, they would lose your trust and possibly the whole friendship. That’s the same dilemma they went through. It sucks but sometimes in life you can’t avoid those hard situations, you just have to work through them. Hang in there, I’m sure they are not making fun of you.
