AITA for filing a noise complaint on people playing basketball outside of my apartment at 9:30pm? I honestly do not know but I have to get up at 5 and I cannot sleep.

It depends on your local noise ordinance parameters. Where I live, that doesn’t start until 10

if it wasn’t past ur quiet hours then yea… and ur RAs didn’t do shit either cause that’s not their problem til is is past quiet hours… ear plugs my guy. not everyone’s gonna accommodate u the rest ur life u gotta find ur own solutions to things without seeking the help from someone in charge.

Kinda. Put some white noise on, turn the tv on, get ear plugs etc… everyone’s got their own work and sleep schedule, we gotta work with each other a little.

Sorry, the asshole part doesn’t depend on that. To answer that, NTA. It’s the middle of the week, people have work. I’m sure there’s a rec center somewhere that would be a better spot for that at this time

I definitely agree with that, but at the same time, depending on what time it is for OP, it’s common courtesy to not be making noise outside late at night in the middle of the week, presumably in a residential area. I get home at midnight during the week and wake up around noon, but I don’t make noise during that time, and I only expect people to be quiet until about 9 am since that’s the typical schedule for most people

I don’t think 9:30 is late tbh. Depends on where you live too. If you live in a city and report every disturbance after 9:30pm you’d be miserable. But if you’re some where it’s dead silent at this time and that’s out of the ordinary sure.
