Not the asshole at all. Tell her you are aware she is perfectly capable of paying you back and is choosing not to and you want her to pay you back within the week.

thanks for the responses yall. when i asked my other friends irl about it they were defending her saying she had bills to pay, she’s excited about making more money, etc. as if i also don’t have bills and am just bitter

If $200 is the difference between you making rent you need to live further below your means

Rephrase that: time to not let ANY FRIEND borrow money from you. Honestly I refuse any friend anytime unless it’s cheap drinks or sum because this has happened many time and it’s just best not to do.

Nah, if they’re flaunting money and expensive things like vacations when they owe you money, they’re the asshole.

Yeah wtf the pocket full of cash and vacations there is no defending her. They probs glaze her cause she buys them drinks or something

One time I borrowed 4$ from my friend to get ice cream from a truck when we were working at summer camp together in our first year of uni, it felt so awkward asking but I never had ice cream from a truck since I was 6 or something lol

I think small things are different bc they’re not gonna affect them as much and it’s easier to pay back. Sometimes i’ll ask my friends to pay for a $4 ice cream or a meal and i’ll either buy theirs next time or pay them back the next day. It’s just like big things, like $20 or over where it gets iffy and becomes more of an issue if that makes sense

100%. Charge a reasonable rate and start accruing it. Give her like 1 year to pay off her debt. If she doesn’t pay it off sign off the debt to a collection agency. Use the interest (which may prompt u to delay the debt even longer) to pay off the collection agency. Then it’s off ur hands and it will really screw ur “friend” over

Is there any chance that she thought you were paying for it since she was coming to see you or something? Like did you ever specify you wanted her to pay you back for it?

Anonymous replying to -> mother_russia 13w

yes cs honestly, if someone got towed on my account i wouldn’t expect the money back unless it was specified. that’s why i asked was it in the neighborhood. my apartment complex is real specific on where guests can park
