Honestly, one shouldn’t be using them at all. ESPECIALLY in college.

WAIT DID SOMEONE ACTUALLY DO THIS

Get used to it or be left behind. Schools HAVE to allow people to use it and cite it. It’s your own fault if the info is false or plagiarized.

I’ve only ever used it as a source in a speech about how AI is ruining perceptions. I had it write a story and I had to cite it as a source
7
Anonymous14w
My uni only allows it as a tool for finding sources but that’s it
5
Anonymous14w
No problem with using it to LOOK FOR sources, but you can’t use it AS a source.

i actually had an exam in cell dev bio where using AI was encouraged but if the info was off track you failed basically the whole exam because of one question so noo not every situation regarding citing AI is idiotic

Lul, evolving workflows…

I’ve had multiple classes in college that have told me to cite ai like ChatGPT if I used it

idk i’ve had it give me a quote from a source, searched the whole source and the quote just didn’t exist, chat gpt made it up, it’s also given me completely incorrect sources for pieces of info
best to just do real research

Exactly. It hallucinates and is wrong very often.

Anonymous#114w
it really does it’s given me flat out wrong information, it also is really bad at math a lot of the time. the only thing i use chat gpt for is counting my calories for the day 😭

I had it look at my resume to see if it was visually busy. I tried to tell me that my employment from August and October of last year were “in the future and would be confusing to employers” even though I’m applying in June 2025 😭

lmaoooo that’s really how it be 😭

This is interesting actually believe it or not but for one of my summer classes my professor said you can cite ChatGPT.

Anonymous#1014w
what class?
1
Anonymous#614w
Some classes do allow ChatGPT. My Writing Course prof allowed it, but you had to notate/highlight what parts of your writing were chatGPT for your essays

AnonymousOP14w
Yall I understand using ChatGPT as a helpful tool with writing but citing it as a source is the most irresponsible thing that the other post's #6 has ever done but there will be weirder things in his future

Anonymous#614w
One of my professors allows it. Chat gpt doesn’t truly understand the material and it’s our own fault if it’s wrong. But yes we must cite it
