I wouldn’t call her dumb for lawyering up immediately. Right or wrong, true or false, it’s the first step everybody should take when they get involved in a legal case. Plead the 5th to the cops, lawyer up, learn the details of what’s being charged,evidence, etc so you can ensure you get full & fair representation.
