Didn’t know golden birthday was a thing, but if they are insisting on going, it’s probably because they’re worried about you and expect everyone to get intoxicated as college students do. I would either go into a deep discussion about this with them, as it’s most likely just parental love, or let them come with as long as they let yall party.

no you’re getting older and part of getting older is wanting to spend more time with your friends doing things ppl your age do. plus you’re only 90 mins away, they could come for dinner the day of your birthday maybe and then just let you spend the rest of the weekend with your friends?
