Like, the more people perpetuate this one party over another nonsense, the further away we get from making real progress in this country. We can’t educate people if we’re politically inclined to vote one way or the other (D or R). The more people vote for candidates who actually show they care (not a democrat that uses social issues as a political football every 2 years), the more progress we can make on actual issues in this country.

Idk, man…to me, some opinions can indeed signal poor reasoning - especially ones based on bad data, sloppy generalizations, or bigotry dressed up as “just a belief.” For example, take a guy who believes that women, as a group, are less intelligent than men. That would not be a nuanced take. It’s factually false and methodologically unsound, and holding that belief could *absolutely* signal poor reasoning. It’s certainly not a perfect carry over, just my attempt to explain another angle!

Thanks man, trying my best not to be an ass. 🤙 Yeah, you weren’t making moves to render anyone incapable of having an opinion. You didn’t call for anyone to be banned, silenced, or barred from expressing anything that I recall. We all have the right here in the US to hold our views. It’s a beautiful thing my grandpas fought for. What we *don’t* have is immunity from critique - especially when/if those views are built on faulty logic or straight up bigotry (covert or otherwise).
