
Maybe you should check on her because constant distraction can be a form of coping with the new environment. It may just be because she’s addicted to her phone but I would say it’s worth bringing up. If you’re not close tho I would just let her do her thing because she is presumably an adult and should have the brain capacity to decide how long she’s on her phone each day.
the first thing she does before she even sits up is put on a youtube video to have in her ears as she goes to brush her teeth & will stay on her phone literally the rest of the day outside of her classes … even when we have lunch or dinner together (not often bc she likes to eat in the room on her phone)
btw i don’t mean to ignore your advice, i’ve considered and done it before & shes told me she’s struggling with the change in new environment but starts explaining why she’s not an “x person” whenever i offer doing or going to x together. then i get annoyed because all she had to do was say yes or no instead of judging the x thing i wanted to do
