The institution of marriage is not really valued as highly anymore. Besides a piece of paper for tax benefits and unless ur religious, what real benefit is there and differentiates it from a dating couple

As a married women, people take me more seriously when I mention my husband 🤷‍♀️ like it’s different, you’re considered a unit. But from the day before we were officially married to today, not much has changed except that it’s more fun to say we have more reasons to celebrate like happy wedding anniversary 😋

You get legal benefits for being married ppl. If you don’t wanna get married it’s bc you’re looking for a way out plain and simple

It’s embarrassing to be judging people’s lifestyle decisions are HERE when they don’t concern you at all and clearly seem to be happier than you’ll ever be

Yeahhh honestly, I wouldn’t ever want that! If I got a woman pregnant, we are getting married within the month. My child is not going to be a bastard!

Like i said: it’s all about material benefits that are purely elective. Outside of moral principles there is nothing that makes marriage uniquely superior

Enjoy the weekend visitation with your future kid. I’m sure they’ll be glad to be bastards once you explain that your lifestyle is “progressive”

I never want kids. But I wouldn’t be alive if my parents waited until marriage and after getting two degrees I think they did a damn good job. Just because you haven’t lived someone’s life doesn’t mean you can’t empathize with and respect their decisions

Ask me why I think it’s best for kids if their parents are married. You don’t know my life either

In general, it is better for the child if their parents are married. Your singular experience does not change that.

Absolutely, my life was so much better and more stable once my parents split up. And I know multiple people on my family who wish their parents split up when they were still kids and living with them. In fact, out of my 5 person friend group 4 of us grew up with a single mom and all five of us got college degrees and turned out pretty good so just because your parents not being married didnt work out for you, you can’t think that marriage is the only tenable familial structure
