Me and my girlfriend are doing long distance for college. Anyone have any great stories about it working out?

Met my bf my freshman year of college. He was a senior so we only had one school year together. Long story short, we did long distance for 2.5 years until I graduated. We’ve been together for 4 and we’re buying our first home🥰

Me and my husband got together in high school. We ended up having to go no contact for a year, in that time I wrote him everyday, he couldn’t receive it but it said how I felt and what I’d done. The day we seen each other again he proposed, a month later we married. Now we’re in two different military branches. We separated for each basic, and now he’s part time I’m full time so we can be Together he just has to go back once a month.

I've been dating the same person since middle school. Went to different colleges in cali and boston. Now going to different schools post grad. Engaged. It works just fine if you're both generally chill & love each other.

my boyfriend and i started dating at the end of his senior year & my junior year of high school. he went play D1 baseball & we’ve done 1 1/2 hour distance, 6 hours & and now currently 8 hours distance. we’ve been together almost 5 years now. it will work if you’re willing to effectively communicate & trust !!

Started dating my bf 2 weeks before I graduated hs (he’s 2 years younger than me). Anyhoo, we’ve done great so far and will continue to do so until I am done with school, so anywhere from 6-12 years.

I go home quite frequently living 3 hours away, which helps a ton. But if that’s not possible, keep strong communication by things like calling every night and such. We also found things to do even apart like play games, and he even helps me study for my exams

I also will add that I don’t really party or hangout with people much which also probably makes a difference. But all in all keep trust and communication and you should be ok!

trust is the #1 thing. if someone truly loves you, they won’t mess it up. they’re going to do what they’re going to do whether you stress out or not so just don’t. learn how to communicate your feelings without blaming the other. “you don’t ever do anything right” < “when you do that, it hurts my feelings. here is how we can fix it:”. make time to see each other when you can of course. but it all comes down to effort on both sides. if someone wants it to work, they will make it work
