And I want to preface that I don't even shit talk him to her. I'm always there for her when he pisses her off but I don't badmouth him when they're fine. She really likes him for some reason and as long as he doesn't get abusive, I keep my thoughts to myself and our other friends who also hate him.

It’s a bestie’s job to be kind of mean and suspicious of their friends boyfriend. They gotta vet him. My bestie’s type is an older version of my brother 🤢 so we’ll probably bicker a lot. I also know when it comes to my boyfriend he’ll have to earn her regard which will be an uphill battle which is fine. If he can’t survive her he’ll never survive my mother.

Plus, a person shows you who they are through adversity. Do they try and isolate you from the friend that is cordial but not expressive & fawning over them? 🚩Just like when there’s problems with a waiter, or you have change or cancel plans, how they react to situations is a deciding factor in whether they should be a partner or not.
