We broke up mutually Friday after 2 years, I called him this morning (Sunday) at 7 am didn’t answer but just got this (I thought I would be ok but I am not and can’t sleep or eat or do anything and he’s my best friend idk what to do)

i went thru this my freshman year of college- he wants to leave but is too much of a wimp to actually do it so he's stringing u along until he's able to leave. be kind to yourself and leave, you deserve someone who is able to be open and honest without confusing the crap out of u

From an outsider, it looks like he is gaslighting you by creating confusion about what you really are while keeping you attached to him Of course I am not you but I have seen similar situations and it can be an ego boost to the person “in power”.
