from what ive heard the manga is wordy as hell but it's still good af and honestly there's a lot in the manga that hasn't been animated (small disclaimer: the author has been sick for a VERY long time so there's essentially no ending rn but there is a pending ending incase he passes away before he can finish writing)

i watched clips and i really really don’t like the animation of one piece and i just really hate pirate themed things bc sounds silly but my ex bf was extremely emotionally abusive during a pirate event thing we have in tampa fl and since then anything pirate is kinda triggering. sounds stupid i know.

it’s called gaspy ! but since then anything piratey i’m not really into…it just brings back bad mems. i watched the first ep and ngl i don’t really wanna watch something that’s 1000+ episodes either, i know myself and i really wouldn’t enjoy that. i love a good ending and prefer shows with 6 seasons max.

The early episodes yeah I don’t love the style, and I get the topic being a trigger, but if it’s any conciliation, even though it’s about like a pirate crew… it has all of these loving pieces. But quite literally I had very similar reasons to putting it off aside from the personal trigger about pirate related things. It’s such a unique anime cuz normally I wouldn’t give 2 shits about pirates, but it has brought out all the emotions more than a lot of anime’s I’ve seen

If you do give it time I recommend balancing it with other anime. I started with a few episodes at a time and then watched something else cuz yes the pacing is a little bit slow in the beginning, but after a certain point I started watching more and more. I started last year and I’m in the 700’s now.

yeah that’s what i don’t like 😭 im always down to give shows a try, i wasn’t really interested in the characters and i thought they were odd looking :/ maybe one day but for now i most likely won’t.

(I’m pretty sure I have an extra R or G 🤣) It’s basically an unholy child between: Adrenaline, the power of friendship, and fuck you I make my own rules. It’s one of the greatest anime of all time if you can get past some of the “plot” waving that happens early on 😅

Yeah it just takes a little bit for the story and power system to warm up. It’s my fav anime and the first one I ever watched. 91 days is 12 episodes and is prohibition era America with mafia stuff. My happy marriage is historic Japan with a kind of magic and it’s good too

If you don’t ever plan on watching one piece then go watch the fan letter special episode it spoils some stuff but if you like that it gives you an idea of what the show is actually about because let’s be honest it’s not pirates when you go down to it
