Because a lot of anime is of highschoolers because for some reason Japan loves to make anime about literal kids. I want one about some grown people please.

yeah i was only 18 when it came out 😭 that’s nasty. i really only all the characters who are 21+ and sukuna but idk if he counts since he’s like 1000+ years old lol. i know it’s just fiction but some people like say disgusting shit on tiktok about them. all the characters are cute!! like from blue lock like i mentioned nagi is adorable but he’s like 12 in my eyes.

like example everyone thirsts over yuji and they are like 30 years old or 27. i’m 23 and that’s just odd to me. sukuna tho is a whole different embodiment and his body literally changes. i then see people thirst over the blue lock characters and im like dude they are 15-17 years old, they are literally all my sons 😞

Yeah. It’s a big yikes from me. I’m only 21. I was 16 when jjk was first coming out. Seeing people who were in fact like 24 at that time thirsting over my highschool sweethearts kills me

Because the intended audience for those shows is highschool kids and it’s not unusually written by hs kids

There’s also a bunch of examples of stories that only work when someone only has the agency or freedom of a hs kid such as csm

there’s shonen and then a seinen. now adays tho, most anime’s i’ve noticed are YA. Shonen’s are fun, and many do explore deep themes but i noticed with seinen they go deeper and are able to explore themes of mortality that may have younger viewers questioning. now tho shonen’s are kinda made for everyone, seinen i can totally see for being 18+ with the themes.

and often times lots of shows switch in and out of both. look at AOT, it switches in between themes. it may be considered a young male anime but it crosses a lot of boundaries which happens now a lot. the average anime fan is actually between 18-24, that’s considering all countries as well.

Ur thinking about it outside of any context Look at hunger games in the west, similar maturity to shows like aot and the audience is teens Shows made for teens often feature teens

i mean yeah obviously it’s geared towards teens but it’s also geared towards any age group.
