Fan service is the main reason I don’t recommend anime to people that don’t watch it. Very unnecessary & a lot of the time just the animation studios doing

is a great element to the show but killing off all of them is horrible. i don’t think fan service should be 100% of what the fan wants but follows some elements in maybe just one small plot line. its like yall love to be depressed…some of us like having happy endings. some of us sometimes want the character to win…not all the time but it would be nice.

oh i thought u meant like characters living / dying. and no i get you, they do that often :/ unfortunately in japan everything is really sexualized. Hopefully things change, i know mappa does a decent job with this. the men like nanami for example he is wearing full on corporate outfit and still looks good while for girls in other anime’s they have to give them bigger breats or smaller waists that weren’t in the manga.

Maybe I’m wrong but I think you and the other poster are talking about different types of fan service. The other poster is more mainly talking about gooner stuff (like a girl having her clothes ripped off or sexualizing her body randomly)

manhwa adaptations are a bit worse but it depends the studio. some studios are FREAKIER than others

girls can look just as good. there’s nothing wrong with making a character look hot/good looking. they do that with the men. a good example would be yuji from JJK but tbh idk if they made her different from the manga to the anime so

If you take a sample of female vs male fan service, there’s way more sexualization of women overall. And the sexualization is usually much more vulgar when it’s towards a women (such as clothes just completely stripped off)
