I love the jokes about Frieren being racist but anyone that GENUINELY thinks she’s racist to demons literally didn’t even watch the show. They explained what demons are perfectly clear, this ain’t demon slayer gang. These are actual non-redeemable mfs

They’re literally creatures lol they’re not human at all they just mimic humans. We could get into “where does mimicry become real” discourse but in Frieren it is clear that mimicry is not real

Yea also implying that she is racist is lowkey justifying racism. 😭 if that was the intention. Like that’s saying the oppressed group are monsters that mimic humans.

The demons in Frieren are just textbook psychopaths. Clear and simple.

Lowkey she kinda valid to be racist. She saw them for like a thousand years and they never changed

The demons make very little sense. I forget his name but a demon let himself die to make sure demon kind would go on but they have no empathy or emotions so bro should not have given a shit. People without empathy will let the world burn to keep living.

The demons even literally confirm it themselves too 😭 like idk the exact line but they say something like “she’s the only one who understands our true nature in this town” during that one episode

The media illiteracy in anime needs to be studied like genuinely

I honestly think it’s more about widespread illiteracy esp in the west (where WE would be seeing the fandom) combined with media often aimed at teens.

True I’m just saying anime because it’s the sever we’re in. I mean we have actual mfs that think one piece isn’t political-

Tbf western values are also very different than values in other parts of the world. Exhibit A is how that one JJK episode got a very high rating here, but review bombed in Japan because Naoya is VERY popular and supported there

That’s not empathy that’s more like survival instincts. No one, especially creatures with the mindset of conquering and living on would just willingly let their entire species die out. Unless you’re a panda ofc

Not trying to be rude but that’s what most animals which is pretty much what demons are compared too, predators that target humans, do on a daily. Even early humans. The point biologically is to keep your species going so even if it shows empathy it doesn’t really prove anything because that’s a pretty normal response

They would let them die out because a creature without empathy cares not about what must be done for the greater good. They only do what’s best for them

Not really. Animals of the same species fight more than they cooperate with cooperation often being attributed to evolution not them thinking about it and coming to a conclusion, and keeping a species going is more the work of evolutionary traits than them doing something for the greater good, a concept which is inconceivable to the average animal.
