Fan service I think is to maintain viewership and satisfy the Japanese population. But for people outside the culture, it’s seen as ruining the story with unnecessary sexualization

i hate this shit, like fire force has a banger storyline, animation, and the best anime OP ever (inferno) and they had to go and ruin it with the fan service

Is gratuitous violence the American equivalent to Japan’s gratuitous sexualization? I wonder sometimes if the rest of the world cringes away from certain aspects of our media culture the same way we cringe away from certain aspects of theirs. That being said I think fan service in anime is sad and weird and I don’t like it

The shows fucking fire but there is one female character who every time she’s on screen her clothes fall off or something and it’s beyond unnecessary

ur not trippin at all, i genuinely hate the trope and feel like it’s so unnecessary, not only does it distract from the main story it also just feels forced and annoying imo
