Hmmm, Noragami, though that series never finished. Theres also oregairu which is my favorite anime but i wouldn’t call it obscure or under appreciated but could just be the fault of algorithms leading me to posts about it

Black Lagoon is getting more recognition finally, but I’ve been a fan for aaaages. It has, in my opinion, one of the best dubs in anime because it does so well to capture the tone and spoken characteristics of every character.

mysterious girlfriend x is definitely a weird one i love! the anime only got 13eps but the manga is complete and the art style is pretty unique, especially the double page spreads

oh you don’t gotta name an obscure series yourself, the idea was that strangers would tell me one of their faves (regardless of how well-known) and i’d recommend a show that’s somewhat less recent / popular based on what you liked about the favorite in question (tbf i also am not super great at assessing a series’ relative obscurity)

if you like Noragami, i wanna say that based on vibes, themes & visual aesthetic you might also enjoy Durarara? or for something more on the philosophical & supernatural side rather than the energetic cityscape type of mood, i bet Mushishi would be up your alley

as for Oregairu, my go-to would be either Chuunibyou Demo Koi Ga Shitai (not exactly obscure lol, but less recent i think) for lighthearted misfit-focused romantic high school comedy, or Welcome to the NHK for a darker comedy centering on characters who have legit deep-rooted psychological issues

Also Hellsing ultimate. The animation is great, the English dub is great, and the whole show just exudes cool
