I will say, people said mermaid island was the worst but him using his raid suit to spy on women in wano was absolutely the worst moment imo. Mermaid Island is annoying because WHY THE F WAS IT A PLOT POINT

And the best part is that he’s not even really a pervert like to the levels of roshi or jiraiya but more so as purely comedy which makes him even more elite because he could also come off as a gentleman at times

I miss him pre Time Skip especially the Alabasta and Skypeia Saga he was so competent and actually really helpful to the crew and overall plot line without just being “kick and swoon” like he is now

Yeah he’s better in that the actual perverted moments he has are minimal, I like it better when the joke is that he’s a hopeless romantic as opposed to a creep

I mean saying that he’s just “kick and swoon” in a post-Whole Cake Island world is kinda crazy ngl. He’s the only strawhat other than Luffy to have a second arc entirely dedicated to his character

I agree with that but then afterwards it just kind of feels a bit idk hollow? Like I thought there would be a bigger character change or less of him being kick and swoon. I was hopeful with the queen fight but after his interaction with Stussy in egghead I’m just kind of eh

For what it’s worth, the anime took a lot of liberties with the Stussy interaction when it was literally a single panel in the manga. Him barking was added by Toei. Toei for some reason loves to play up scenes like that
