It’s fun when you don’t take it too seriously. Like it’s ridiculous and silly so it’s a good thing to chill with. It’s kind of like Death Note where it’s entertaining to watch once you realize how ridiculous it is

I mean yeah kind of? Literally first episode off the bat Light goes “ILL BE THE GOD OF A NEW WORLD!” With no slow descent into madness or egotism. He’s nuttier than a cashew. Plus it’s kind of funny how insane his thought process is whenever he’s asked a simple question. He’s a hormonal teen given way too much power and is way overthinking stuff. It’s by no means a comedy but I can’t help but not take the guy seriously because he’s ridiculous

Okay I’ll give that for the first episode like yeah he plays god and whatnot but after that I felt like it got more serious. I can understand your point though

The anime ends at a bad spot. I honestly love the part of the manga that the anime never covered more than the parts of the manga that the anime did cover.

Oh it definitely is a serious show and I would not say it’s a comedy but looking at Light after getting over my whole own teen angst phase it’s kind of ridiculous which is part of what makes the show such a well written piece of fiction. Helps that there is a lot of memes, videos and fan content that pokes fun at the show and the characters, makes it a lot less serious
